PS2 Price Drops to $129.00

I think a lot of people were expecting the Playstation 2 price to drop to $99.00. Personally I think that would have been the right move. $129.00 is only $20.00 less than the $149.00 it was already at and I am not sure it is a magic pricepoint that will get people off of waiting for the PS3.

I would suspect they may drop the price to $99.00 at the end of the year, but only time will tell.

Hmmm... well, I got my PS2, with 2 controllers for $89.00. I mean, I got it from a pawn shop and all, but $89 is a good price! I tested it beforehand, and it worked fine. It's the thin one too, not the big clunky one. And gamestop sells used ones for $109. So I think if Sony really plans to produce the PS3 in the fall, then they really need to drop the price more than that! Of course then they will show up in the pawn shops for $69 like a cube ^_^ Oh well, someone elses misfortune is my gain.

Make money for the PS3? You mean Sony is counting on the money they make from PS2 sales between now and September so they can meet their Fall 06 PS3 launch? weird... I think they're just greedy to tell you the truth. I mean, if they can make money off selling it for $129 why would they drop it to $99? Oh well... Sony and Square Enix are my gods, so I guess I won't judge them for that @_@
