Need a new game...input please!

So I need a new game, but am unsure to what I want. I like Counter Strike Source, currently and used to love World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Planetside, Age of Empires II, those kinds of games. I like shooters that require some sort of strategy or skill, not just how fast you can click your mouse.

Any ideas?

Thinking of getting Call of Duty 4, but want to see what else is out there first.

call of duty 4 is the best going at the moment, or if u like strategy shooters try tom clancey´s rainbow 6 vegas 2, which only came out last week

i would suggest getting anything but COD4. There's too many ppl raving on about it being the best shooter ever. It's getting tiring. I think Rainbow Six Vegas 2 would be a good game to get atm. at least it's not so run n gun like COD4.

I am looking to get "Sins of the Solar Empire" next. Game informer gave it good reviews (9/10). You said I like shooters that require some sort of strategy or skill, not just how fast you can click your mouse.
From what Ive read about it...this game might be for you.

sins of a solar empire is not a shooter though. It's pure real-time strategy. I think he was on more about a shooter which requires tactics or at least team play.

Yeah...I kinda realized that after I hit the "Submit Reply" button. I still think it sounds like a cool game though. Ever try any of the "Starsiege Tribes" Games? There's some good strategy there.

starsiege tribes is a bit old now. I tried the game but i couldn't get it to work coz the original master server i now down. there are some people who still play it, but i don't know how to get it to work.

seems like a good game, even for today's standard. I think you can get it for free.

I believe its available on Fileplanet...Ill have to look it up. And it is very old...almost 10 years I think. There was a sequel or some such that came out in 2004...but I think it bombed. But I agree with the running and gunning thing....seems most online FPS's are all about that now. Halo had some nice abilities to use strategy online.....but noone ever used it to its potential really.....its still wound up being mostly run and gun ****. Same thing goes for Crysis.....the nanosuit idea could make for some great strategy....unfortunately my experience has been that everyone else on the server is using the same strategy.....stay cloaked.....ambush...shoot...cloak again. It gets boring really quick.

If you liked WoW and Starcraft why not try Warcraft 3 (with expansion Frozen Throne). Its really cheap for both now, around £15-£20 for the two, and it is an excellent game with a lot of online and offline life in it.

COD4 is good as well though ;> Brilliant online.

What if he doesn't want actual new games what if he wants games which allot of people have heard of and played which he never had the chance to play such as whatever he can name i don't know what he has played and what he hasn't played and what he wants to play anyway don't always assume the the person wants these very new games when the title says something with New in it because they may not want very new games.

I think Rome: total war witch you can get for about £5 now or if you like RTS games like age of empires you should try empire earth 3, if you have got one of the consoles like 360 or PS3 I wouldn’t bother with an FPS on the PC.

I've just begun playing X3: Reunion and must recommend it; it's well thought out, the story is pleasant but the FMVs are absolutely shiet. It's the gameplay that drives me, one of those 'no-ending' kinda games. It's like Homeworld but with much more depth such as economy...

Well if you like some action pack games... you got to have a Call of Duty 4, Fall Out 3, CrySis 3, and Starcraft 2.

Crysis is a great game probably the best shooter there is, but u need a fkin super computer to run it. If u have enough RAM it should play fine. Unless you have a gig and a half of RAM or more dont bother though
