Hi All,

I would like to know what program or software any of you use to capture in-game screenshots? I can't seem to find anything that will capture in-game shots of Oblivion.

All responses appreciated, Thanks.

xfire is better coz it has free video recording at high quality and small file sizes

is xfire better? i hear people using FRAPS all the time to record stuff and take screenshots. (there is a way of getting the full version for free [cough] [cough] lol)

i thought FRAPS was the best coz it doesn't slow down your PC performance as much, hence why the video files are so huge, coz it doesn't bother to compress anything to save processing resources.

and it thought xfire was used to chat to people whilst your playing games are to search games your friends are playing on. it does recording and screenshots as well?

yeah i tryed a downloaded cracked version of fraps but i didnt know how to activae the crack or... something like that, xfire is used to chat to people in game and takes screen shots and records video and the best thing is... its FREE!! i think its great and it tracks the time that u have played a game (look at my sig) and even on some games it tracks how many people u hav killed

sounds good, but i'll stick to using Fraps for now, i'm used to it. Btw, I managed to download a full version for free and it works fine for me.

i didn't have to do anything with a crack, i think it came with the file and it's quite small; only took me a few minutes to d/l. I can record movies as long as i like - no 30 sec limit and "www.fraps.com" pasted on the video. I can PM you the link if you want.

Or, you could skip software altogether, and buy a nice DVD recorder, set it up with componet splicers to your computer and record it from there. Then you could transfer it to your computer and encode it to be a little smaller. This way, you can take your videos to wherever you could go. Of course, thats only if you want to go to the extremes, the FRAPS aproach works much better (especially if it's free!).

er... i think Fraps is a lot easier to record game footage and screenshots than using an external recording device! lol the quality would probably be poorer as well, esp if you get a cheap one. and seriously, it is very easy to get Fraps free, unless you're one of those people with very high moral values and want to pay the makes of the application.
