download sp3 and make sure that your new graph card and RAM were installed properly

Have you updated all your graphic card drivers and done a DirectX test?

I've got the latest nvidia graphics drivers.

Read that H4xor you will find out he has the latest still sp2 is not the nivida compatible version.

My bad! just trying to help! though i see a point its a bit like asking if he turned on his computer!

Also Phantom85 is it a certain game or many?

if its a certain game just google something like: *game name* freezing.
or
*game name* patches.

look for a legit site and then come back if that doesn't work...

if it is more than one game, what is your processor and check if the games have a high CPU usage.

also try putting the game on a lower setting, this will help in two ways:
1. it will tell you if its your graphics and or ram.
2. it will solve the problem if it is graphics.

ok another thing to do if we haven't solved are puzzle yet is to go.
1. Start.
2. Run.
3. type in "dxdiag".
4. go through all the tests
5. if anything is worng fix it.
6. if not then try the game again(it sometimes fixes auto)

Either that or just find something that will work with it.

What? First time I have ever heard that! Where do you people dig this junk up? Sp2 is obvioudly not the problem as it has nothing to do with windows graphics subset nor DirectX. There is no such incompatability with nVdida cards and sp2. And Sp3 isnt going to solve any game related issues seeing that it has been out less then a month for the general public. If all you are going to give is bad and un-researched advice then give none at all.

I'm almost in tears laughing so hard. Seriously!

SP2 was released in August 2004. Being that this is a FREE SECURITY UPDATE, anyone using XP legitimetly had been using it for 4 years.

Emphasis of FREE, meaning anyone has access......Emphasis on SECURITY, meaning it has absolutely jack **** to do with graphics and gaming.

There was a minor problem with REALLY OLD nVidia like geforce 2mx cards that was often blamed on SP2 but turned out to be a ****ty driver roll out. But this is way way back into the 60.xx versions of the drivers. this makes your assumption totally irrelevant.

There is no known issues with SP2 and nVidia cards because SP2 is a SECURITY patch....it IS NOT a new version of XP.

Why don't you try reading sometime.

Oh..Ok
Forget that you just spout one sentence remarks with no founding. Let's forget about my a+ certification in Hardware and Operating systems. Let's forget about My BA in Computer Science. Seems I need to read more.

Thanks alot you guys i will try thet. It happens with all the games. i did try setting all my games to lowest settings but after a while it the game still bombs out. I thpought it could be the cpu over heating but the pc does'nt shut bown. The most common problem is with NFS Carbon & the old Battlefeild 2. I did download the latest NVidia drivers tho

If you are sure that its not a heat issue and you have the latest drivers....next step I would take would be to check for platform drivers. Bad or outdated mainboard drivers can cause a lot of problems in games too. Find out what chipset your motherboard has and see if there is a newer driver version. Also it cant hurt to reinstall directX...sometimes the files can be slightly corrupt.

Run dxdiag and do some DirectX and video tests...

I agree with MurdersGalore.
Check your RAM(s) and Graphic Card. Put back your old ram and your older graphic card to find out what is the problem. (Maybe one of them wrong.)
If you refreshed your platform drivers and the problem is exists, you may check your motherboard Bios. Some cases you have to flash it with the latest Bios to support neweer graphic cards.
