Hi
I have just received a game called Ripper which needs Dosbox to run. When I try to install the game I get the following : "Unable to initialize video mode. Load VESA drivers." I have looked through the dosbox tutorial and find no information on how to load these drivers.

Please can any one help? As I really am looking forward to playing this game.

Well, I think that there are two ways to fix this problem:

First is to go install the VESA drivers manually that should be on the CD in the Drivers folder?

Or editing SoundBlaster line in DOSBox.conf file and change the IRQ setting from 7 to 5.

Thank you for the reply but still after following the steps you mentioned I still get the same error message. I am not all that good with dos and all that but could it be something to do with my graphics card?

It might be not compatible with your computers specs...

What CPU, OS and Gfx card are you using?

Hi thanks for the reply.

MY P.C specs are as follows:-
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2700+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
O.P: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
Graphics card : NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE

The Dosbox website says it should run the game with XP, but I dont know how.

Sorry, I don't have any more suggestions, as far as I know it should work with those specs.
