Tomb Raider Anniversary - Playstation 2 (Released on the 5th June 2007)

Each and every popular software company tends to have a mascot representing the company for instance Nintendo have Mario and Sega owned Sonic and even so Xbox have Halo if considered.

But as Playstation released the original Tomb Raider for the Playstation 1 the blue hedgehog and the little Italian plumber found a match of a more 'Sleek & Sexy' figure being Lara Croft!

The release of this game just over 10 years ago was a new height for gaming with superb graphics and massive mind boggling levels that really needed fast but suttle attention. The name "Tomb Raider" describes it all as you muddle your way through different tombs whether it being inside pyramids, temples and caves... She's been there.

As Tomb Raider released newer versions the original got covered up as a sort, so as the unexpected happens on the 10th anniversary they release "Tomb Raider: Anniversary" Which is an exact re-make of the first Tomb Raider with stunning graphics and a formidable feeling due to the game play compared to the first Tomb Raider.

I think that this is one of the best games I've ever played on the Playstation 2, the graphics are very impressive, nothing is really solid blocked everything has a precise cause to fit perfectly. The controls are very easy to grasp a hold of, I found no difficultly when exploring my surroundings which is massive, each level after the first takes a good 30 minutes to accomplish (without collecting Relics + Artefacts). Some of the levels aren't exactly like the original (new ideas have been invented to keep the game play alive)

Weaponry:- Well, you're definitely not short of defence and ass kicking material! Equipped with weapons such as the Tomb Raider classic pistols that never seem to run short of ammo! Also she manages to carry the Desert Eagle, M16, Uzi's, Shot Gun, Golden Shot Gun, MP5.. Heck, you name it she has one.

So far I Havant experienced any glitches or jams or any other problems (I have completed it on each different difficulties). It auto saves your exact positions at checkpoints that are located throughout each level.

The bosses in this game aren't exactly easy opponents, its not a case of "I will shoot you now?". You need your thinking cap on and need to pay attention to your surroundings. The game is not easy if don't have the correct weapons or sufficient ammo. A lot of ledge grabbing and swinging from roofs take place in this game which needs really quick thinking. But the attracting surroundings and high definition feel to the game makes it a very, very enjoyable game. I don't really think I can fault this game for anything. I'm my book it's what gaming is all about fast action, good graphics, big guns and loads of fun.

If you are a fan of Tomb Raider or a fan of Lara Croft for that matter I strongly recommend a purchase in this game. It is definitely worth the money and this game is multi-formatted (Wii, Xbox, Playstation and PC) Released last year so prices shouldn't be too high.

Game Rating: 9

Legend is great, but it's short, too short, once you get really into it, it's over, but it has a great deal of replay value. And those costumes will have you coming back for more. lol

As for TR:A. I've played every TR, and was delighted to play a rehashed version of the original, the beginning was so promising and some places had some nostalgic moments. It was a good game until it got glitchy in some parts and some of those areas were highly frustrating in the Egyptian areas. However that bloody jump on the Great Pyramid ruined it for me, I just gave up on it. How the hell do you do that in such little time? Not to mention they cut out and merged some of the better most memorable levels of the original game, and it felt rushed near the end. :(

I wouldn't agree with the 9 because of the jump, glitches and rushiness of the last few levels. I would agree with the 7.5 for the first few levels and the nostalgia for TR fans.

I honestly think there's a far amount of mixed points of view when it comes to this game.

Would advise not to get it on the Wii if anyone is gonna get it, the camera angling is a real put off, but the Archeological Tool Kit is a great addition to it.

The DvD with the collectors edition on the Ps2 is a must have for TR fans for sure. Each version just has something nice on the side to offer! lol

Can't wait for TR:Underworld, it looks like the best so far in the new style TR. :D

I had no troubles, no glitches or any errors, clean out of the case. Worked perfectly for me.
