James Bond 007 Nightfire - Release Date: November 18, 2002
Well this is another James Bond installment that has the 'best agent in the world' James Bond, as well as a few new characters to boot.
In this Installment the aim of the game is to investigate the intentions of the villain of this game who is Drake and stop him from trying to dominate and destroy the world, I know it sounds a little cliched, but than again it's what we usually expect from these James Bond games :p
You get a colourful new set of weapons such as the SSG commander, as well as the newly revamped rocket launcher that can seek your enemies by means of heat sensory or by seeker detection.
What wowed me was how amazing the graphics were, mind you I've only played the XBOX version of this game, and thought that it was really amazing...
The campaign I'd have to say is pretty well thought out, comes with it's difficulties, and there are quite a number of objectives where there is hacking involved :p
I'd say that most of the time I was playing the campaign mode I was busy looking for armour, because the enemies just come in jam packed with a set of firearms that is sure to set your soul on fire :D
In conjunction to the campaign mode, there are levels where you are in vehicles for most of the mission, which is pretty awesome, considering the previous games had limited use for vehicles in the game (that's excluding the tank in Goldeneye, or the train :p)
The multiplayer mode was just simply amazing, if you start off playing most of the options won't be there, which is why it's prudent to play the campaign levels to unlock secret characters and secret stages to play. Options include the old time favourite capture flag, which can also be team based or just player vs player based, with everyone in teams, or just straight out arena style where players just shoot at each other making sure who gets the most kills at the end of the game.
Overall the game isn't that bad, the only downfall I can think of is that the campaign could have been a bit longer, and "armour" areas could have been more evenly spread, rather than fighting 100 enemies and having little to no health, with no armour in sight.
Still, it makes for a fun game, and hope that this review has influenced many of you to either purchase this game, or just think of it as another James Bond Game JOKES :p
