I've been reading about this on a few sites. It sounds as if they are renaming it to complement the DS branding. I thought "Revolution" sounded pretty snazzy so I'd be surprised if this is true. Hard to tell with so many rumours flying around.

RS probably stands for Revolution System if you heard that floating around on cyberspace.

NO offical announcement of a name change but it is quite possible.
for example the the Gamecube was originaly the Dolphin.

Yea... but unlike "Dolphin" the Gamecube Revolution has a pretty good sounding and reasonable name.

And also has a lot of pressure on it's sholders whilst carrying that name....

Well from what I have heard about the console, its remote-controll style controller and unique interface will definitely make it "revolutionary." Whether or not that revolution is in the right direction, however, is yet to be determined. Honestly, I think that it will flop. ;)

i think in order for nintendo to comepte well they have to drop the kiddy apeal i mean most little kids dont want to have little kid games they want games like the ones sony and micorsoft have on there console. what nintendo does do good at though is there fun random games which no one can compare to

Yea... however, at this point in the game they really do not have that much of a market to work with except the kiddies.

Pretty much all game companies and gamers have moved away from nintendo... I think that they really need to focus on the niche that they have right now, and foster some good quality kiddie games that will actually cause parents to buy the console. Right now they have a niche that they just can't make that much money in due to lack of interest.

indeed...nintendo's audience always was and always will be the younger age group...although they have slowly added some more mature games in in recent years (ex: resident evil 4 and some of the multi-platform games are more mature than most of nintendos first party games)..but what really sets nintendo apart from MS and sony is the first party games...the mario games, donkey kong games, zelda games, etc...that is why nintendo is still in business...their mascots appeal to kids (and older people alike)...and nintendo is able to churn out fun spinoffs from these characters...mario golf, tennis, etc. anyone? ;)
