Came across this today, looks like the cat is finally out of the bag. It looks just like a remote control though. I've heard the 'A' button is on the front, and is situated where your thumb would rest naturally, but the 'B' button is on the back, where your index finger rests. Sounds really weird to me. Also, the analogue control is done by moving the actual controller around in the air. Better be careful not to inadvertently hit someone eh :D !
Here's the picture:

... now who says Nintendo isn't innovative, if nothing else!

I kinda don't like it  I'll have to wait to try it, but I already have too many remotes.

That looks fiddly beyond belief, is that picture for real!? I suppose it could go either way. They might end up being hailed as geniuses for coming up with something so innovative. On the other hand, it could miss really badly. Whatever happens, it's a very gutsy (or very stupid!) move from Nintendo.

i think its a good idea but agree that it might be fiddly and annoning, would u need 2 controller scokets for those 2? meaning only 2 players could use it.... hmm

Nintendo are just doing what they are best at which is trying new things. They do the same with every console release and thank god they do! Let's not judge the new controller until we have tried it. It will probably be more of a problem for the Americans who have huge hands;)
Personally I never got on with the N64 controller but then I have never liked the Playstation pads either. The best controllers to date in my opinion are the SNK Neo Geo pads & arcade stick, Official Sega Saturn 6 button pads and the official Dreamcast pads.

I bought one of those SF pads for the ps2 thinking that it would work with my ps2 to xbox controller adapter. Well it didn't work :( I only bought it for the ps2 thinking I would save $10, and now I can't find the receipt. I might put it up on this sale forum :)

Gamestop has them for 9.99 they had different characters. I wonder when the xbox ones will drop to 9 bucks. I might have to get an xbox controller with all these old school compilations coming out

The Rev controller doesn't look like much now due to the fact as we haven't seen it in use! I'm sure we will warm to it give it time. Just imagine using the controller in first person mode in a Star Wars game - a lightsaber anyone? or the latest game in the zelda series - master sword eh? or maybe even another set of mario games such as Mario golf, tennis, party or mario sunshine 2 - with the flood? maybe a return of super punch out is in line. see plenty of great ideas if i do say so my self....any more?

I really like the special joystick feature that can be added to the controller and the selection of colors.:p

yea... but it is a little odd that you have the buy the joystick separately isn't it?

That's not cool. Who wants their left side to be dormant? It's the same reason I bought a standard instead of an automatic car....

They'll probably make you pay for it separately. Guess if you're not getting used to the remote you can always go to the alternative.

Hmmmm I'm not sure about the Revolution controller I think it looks awsome and I'm also not sure about it will it really work like Nintendo says it will?.

The Rev controler is very different thats for sure, but if you think back to the N64 that was almost as weird I'm going to have to trust nintendo on this they seem to know what there doing.

:D I am so looking forward to this console! i love playstation, but I really don't feel as excited about getting a ps3 as the revolution. I mean come on! Motion detecting controllers, that opens up so many gaming opportunities that aren't there with "standard" controllers. Especially with the potential of being paired with VR. Nintendo has been more innovative than Microsoft or Sony in the past few years, and the DS has taught us that different can be good!

The Rev will kick the ps3's ass.

lol..at the end of the day...The Revolution controller has the potential to change the way we game forever!!! (dramatic enough?):D
idk about you guys..but In England there is a game where you use a plastic sword infront of a big screen (arcade) and block, parry, and slash combo enemies! - just to play that again would be cool...but pair it with motion trackers (VR), then it would be amazing!

I honestly think that Nintendo is trying way too hard to come out on top. I do like Nintendo, but they've really gone downhill.
I have no idea what they are trying to do with that controller. It looks really awkward. I guess I can't judge until I try it, but I can't imagine playing video games with something that is like a remote control, and with just one hand? I'll hope for the best though.

I think Nintendo has not even looked at it as them trying to come out on top, actually. In every interview with Nintendo developers I have read, they say it isn't about being the one that sells the most, it's being the one who innovates the most. Nintendo is the standard for innovation- they made the NES in a time when Atari was the standard. They created the (much copied) Game Boy. Sega, Neo Geo, Tiger- all these companies tried to cash in on the success of the game boy, but none of their handhelds came close to competing. The SNES had some of the most fun games ever out, then the 64... now THAT was a great system. My brothers and I still play mario party sometimes. Every system Nintendo has put out has been progressively better. When I first saw the DS, I thought THAT looks uncomforatable. But once I got mine, I love it. Nintendo realized long ago that they couldn't beat sony- so now they are offering things you can't get from sony, so you buy their system too. And a motion sensor controller... that's really cool.
