View Full Version : Best PS2 baseball game?

Any recommendations on a PS2 baseball game?
I like the sport of baseball, the game itself; I don't care about the 'business' of baseball, and I don't follow it in real life, so I don't care if the rosters are right or what-not. I would like it to look nice and be somewhat easily playable [no pain-in-the-rear control schemes.] It does not have to be a current game, in fact, it's probably better if it's not. I've got a little bit of credit at EBgames, and there's not a whole lot I'm waiting for right now, so I thought I'd spend a few bucks on a preplayed PS2 baseball game.
The last one I played was RBI Baseball 95 on the 32x, and before that, Baseball on the Atari 2600. So you can see where I am coming from.
I know old sports games can be had for very cheap, so I thought I'd pick up a baseball game, but would like some recommendations.
thanks in advance.

... I have actually never noticed a baseball game for the Ps2... I wonder how that would work exactly.

MVP baseball 2005 is really good...you can get it for only like 10 bucks (or lower) now...good luck!

Ahhh... I will have to look that up.

However, knowing my hatred for sport video games I will most definitely not purchase it.

How the hell can you make a baseball game on a console/pc anyways?

well, sports fans love it...and i guess that's good enough for the developers...whatever they are doing, they are doing something right...

Yea... but seriously... baseball? What does the movement of the joystick move the bat or something? I just don't see how it could work... unless it was all automated and you did not actually controller the batter... but then that would just be boring.

from what i have played the joystick has never moved that bat swing...you push a face button to swing the bat...

Ahhh... well the more mindless the better I guess... They probably figure that you have to be pretty mindless to buy a video game for a game that you could just play for real.

injured or out-of-shape people would probably not play for real, haha..so they have to do it via a game :p

Ahh... I concede that point... but wouldn't the game just make them more depressed?
