Not WoW, but Starcraft... I'm waiting for Blizzard to release SC2. I'll be seriously disappointed if they announce any more warcraft games, as it seems like they're neglecting starcraft. Having said that, I've played Warcraft 1 and 2, and they were definitely fun though.

Hmm..

I used to play it with the Frozen Throne mod/version...

Was really good. I loved the game, until I had to sell the CD for sponsoring something else ;)
And then I have never seen the game :(

Was the frozen throne version for Starcraft or Warcraft?

Was the frozen throne version for Starcraft or Warcraft?

For Warcraft 3, of course!!

Is not starcraft the open source version of Warcraft?

No, they're two completely different games. If you haven't checked out Starcraft you definitely should, I agree with Timeless that it's one of the best strategy games ever made, although it's ancient now in gaming terms. The balance between all the different races was absolutely perfect in that game, maybe more so than in Warcraft.

Hi DarkCity, yep, SC was and is an amazing game!

MMKRulz, no official announcements, and I'm beginning to doubt that there ever will be.

I got WoW on release night at 1am at a local Wal-Mart, and played for a few months.

I recently came back when a friend wanted to play again and this time we made horde characters. i learned i really don't like the whole horde side of the game. The zones and quests etc seem to be really boring for me compared to the alliance specific stuff. Needless to say when my account expires in 9 days I'm leaving it to expire again.

I've played a lot of MMOs though and overall I'd say it is hands down the best one available today. it really does have the Blizzard feel which is it's most important aspect. I think it's one major flaw, is it's far too easy to solo most anything. I have a hard time grouping when I know I accomplish much more by myself in less time, but every time once I get to 40+ or so, i end up missing out and burn out really quickly.

I don't have it yet but I will definately buy it one of the following days. It is a very good game based on the original world of Warcraft 3! Arthas rules!

I beta tested WOW for a long time, but ended up playing EQ2 when it launched instead of WOW. Not sure that was the right decision. :) Regardless, I have considered picking up Wow since then, but I tend to like being a part of the pioneer spirit in a new game and building from there. I missed my chance at Target to pick it up for $20 a few months back, so I am probably going to wait now. Playing other games, and beta testing some others, so no time for any more MMORPGS.

I play on Dethecus, Alliance side, and Bonechewer, Horde side. Of course, these are PVP servers. :D

Basically, you get to play one of the following races:

Horde Side:
Blood Elves (only available in the upcoming expansion)
Orcs
Tauren
Trolls
Undead

Alliance Side:
Dwarfs
Gnomes
Humans
Night Elves

From those races above, you are able to play melee or spell-based classes such as (classes vary if available for selected race above):

Druid
Hunter
Paladin
Priest
Mage
Rogue
Shaman
Warlock
Warrior

There are quests, of course, that you complete and they take you around the "world" of Azeroth where you are able to encounter new enemies, learn new spells/abilities, improve your character and so forth. World of Warcraft allows you to play both solo and group. However, many of the endgame items are receivable if you're in a group due to the nature of the enemies that you are up against and are not soloable.
