This is mostly aimed at the author and the saga.

The saga: the 12 part series about Darren Shan, as a half vampire/half human.

I watched the film, and decided I'd like to read the books.

I'd really recommend the books. I didn't like the movie but I'm a huge fan of the books. The 7th, 8th and 9th were a little disappointing but otherwise it's an excellent series

Books were awesome, met the man when the series first came around at a signing event :D Happy days. I didn't watch the films, after Harry Potter (in my opinion) it ruined the books slightly for me. Therefore Darren Shan saga shall remain untouched :P

The film received 30% or around that on Metacritic, so avoid it like the plague. I did, but I liked the concept behind it and I've read the first book in the past.

I thought the saga was brilliant. The Vampire War trilogy is up there with some of my favourite books. Haven't had a chance to catch the film yet though. I'd like to, just to see how they did it.

I prefer the Demonata saga to his Vampire saga. Don't know why, Darren just seems less of a character compared to Grubbs and the rest.

I finished the saga years ago... started around 2005/2006 when a Russian kid in one of the upper years suggested it to me (I was a Junior Librarian at the time.) I LOVED the Saga, but haven't yet finished the Demomata.

The film was just so bad... it had nothing in common with the books.

I absolutely love everything Darren Shan has ever wrote. Even the Christmassy stuff he wrote:p Big fan of both the saga and the Demonata and am loving his Larten Crepsly series. It explains so much. I'm also going to meet him on Sunday at the Edinburgh book festival :D Saw the start of the film them refused to watch it .

I've still got to finish the Saga of Darren Shan, but I love the Demonata books Darren did as well, only book of his I've read that I didn't like was The Thin Executioner.
