View Full Version : PSP Analog Stick Goes Down!!!
Okay everything looks completely normal on my PSP but for some reason in all my games it seems the analog stick is CONSTANTLY moving down; in Tekken my character is constantly crouching and I can't even navigate a the main menu! And this is without me even touching it my PSP.
The only thing I've done that seems to stop this is to push down on the analog stick. Then everything returns to normal, but as soon as I release, down it goes again.
Since I don't plan on playing every game while holding down my analog stick, does anyone know anything I can do? Is it stuck, loose or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine fell of months ago so I put my PSP..... Well I cant remember but I do know there is still a warrenty!
Yes I do know of this problem. I had it on a Gameqube controller. Hold down the up button when you turn it on and wait untill you get to a mailn menue or a press start screen to let it go. If this dosen't work, than refer to the PSP manual book and serch for that problem in it. (search each page for better results!) On the other hand, you could post this topic in many other forums!:D

The problem with the crounching is your problem because in my PSP and in my Tekken it is perfect.
Maybe the problem is that you need to replace the analog stick but if it isnt then I suggest that you use the Dpad not the analog stick because the Dpad is much better then using the Analog stick
In bottom line: The analog stick isn't really good for fighting games except WWE smackdown! vs. raw 2006, 2007

I have the exact same problem as you. I looked at my psp and relised there was a slight crack at the bottom of the psp face plate directly underneath the analog nub. This crack meant that the psp face plate was actually about a millimeter of the main body of the psp. So I decided to push down on the area to the bottom of the analog nub and found the it stopped the analog from moving down and began fuctioning correctly. As soon as i stopped pushing it down the problem returned. It seems that the connection between the analog and the main board has been broken. The only solution is getting a new face plate. I hope this helps.

You could see if there are any repair shops nearby your location and see if they could have a look at it.
