After a year Hiatus I have returned to the great world of Starcraft, and besides everyone playing being half my age... it is really fun. ^_^

Does anyone else still play SC: Brood war? The Use Map Settings maps have really gotten pretty damn good since I was away... quite a few patches too.

i downloaded a demo for starcraft about a year ago and never really got into it...i guess i dont really find RTS games to be fun...i mean, i enjoyed warhammer: dawn of war a little, and warcraft 3 a little, but they never got really fun for me :/ starcraft is a crtically acclaimed game though that probably single-handedly put RTS gaming on the map

The game literally costs like 10 bucks... probably less if you buy it used. I would definitely pick it up... it is extremely worth it.

that's what i was thinking when i saw it like 2 years ago at best buy....still i know i will never even install the thing because i really dont like rts that much from my experience unfortunately :/ i could use that 10 dollars to buy lunch or put it towards another game

Well... suit yourself. The game has a lot of depth, however, beyond RTS through the Use Map Settings... that is really what gives the game its longevity.

longevity means nothing to me if i dont really feel like playing the game in the first place :D

but i can see it's addicting nature though...that's why it's so critically acclaimed! :) people still play this at competitions :p

Well... even if you don't like RTS games there are many UMS maps that really are not "RTS" but rather RPGs, action adventure, point and click, and lot of other forums of games.
