So I already have a GBA sp, and a DS, why should I buy a GBM when it doesn't play GBC or GB games, plus the screen is rediculously small.

That's a good question considering the fact that they already have the GBA, GBA SP, and Nintendo DS. This is ridiculously unnecessary honestly, prepare for low sales on this.

I guess maybe they are targeting the ipod owners amongst us. Small is beautiful, or so they believe in Japan ;) Maybe they'll bring out the GBA macro next, one you have to use a microscope to see :)

I would have never thought it was coming out at $100. Maybe it would have been worth it have they included the play-yan.

At 100 bucks, a Nintendo DS would probably be as cheap as a Micro by the time it comes out.

i still have my normal GBA and i'm waiting for a price drop on the SP...maybe the release of the micro will make the SP's price drop enough for me to get one soon ;)
i hope, at least...i've also heard that the backlighting was better on the micro than the "washed" backlighting on the SP

100 dollars is way way too much. If they cut that in half, they might get me to buy one at some point. But even then I'd have to see one, hold it, see if my eyes can take it the miniscule screen. My hands cramp up after an hour on the SP, so I can't imagine this. I'd also be afraid of scratching the screen. The SP and DS are nice because I can throw it in my pocket or backpack, and not worry about it. I think the Micro and SP should be similarly priced. It's just two different flavors of the same system. I mean after all the PSTwo (slim) didn't cost more than the old chunky PS2. ;)

i heard that it's button layout was better than the sp b/c it is spread out wider than the sp sicne there is a screen b/t the dpad and the buttons on the micro...
i might get one when the price drops, but i might get a DS instead...maybe they'll make new DS's with better backlighting in the future :)

I'm not buying it. I was okay when they released the SP (because my brother wanted a GBA) but this is going too far. It's pretty much the exact same device, only smaller. I already have a GBA, SP, and DS, so there's no need for me to get this. Nintendo should just start working on the new Game Boy.

Curious, why did you get an SP when you already had the GBA? I bet a lot of people thought that was kinda pointless! No offence though, as I did the exact same thing myself, after trying to install an afterburner and slightly botching it, and still being a bit unhappy with the overall bulkiness of the GBA.

Was that directed at me? I thought I mentioned it in brackets (I could be going crazy though .. and if the brackets in my old post didn't exist, neither do these brackets). Well, my brother wanted a GBA, so I gave him my old one when I got the SP. That and it had a frontlit screen (or was it sidelit).

ah, my mistake, I didn't read your post properly :o
The SP is front lit. I hear the DS screen is back-lit... does that make playing games much crisper? Sometimes the screens look slightly cloudy on the SP in my opinion.

The sp has a better screen considering it had light. Also games looked better(just look at the difference between in castlevania circle of the moon)

The faceplates have built in screen protectors, so scratching the screen on a micro is a non-issue.
Honestly, i already have a DS and I traded in my GBA for an SP when it launched. i don't need another. But, I'd still like to see a micro and hold it before making my final judgement. A year or 2 down the road Whenever GBA finally gets a true succesor, it might be worth it to pick up a micro as a final form of the system.

I just bought a ds last week, I've had a sp since launch and its still working fine, i just don't see the need for the micro. I think the sp is small enough as it is.

I saw they also released a gba sp with a brighter screen! After playing Gba games on my ds you could see a major difference in the regular gba sp. I wonder if that will hurt sales of the micro.

yea, that was NOT a good move by nintendo for their sales...but ah well, it gives gamers more options :D
i may pick up a DS when they make a new design with even brighter screen :D...or i hope i win it from this site! :)

I enjoy my ds, I just wish there were more games. I was planning on getting lunar; until it got pretty bad reviews :( I think the next good game will be castlevania

I don't see why Nintendo keeps releasing new versions of the GBA... I mean the SP was really cool... and was definitely something I am glad they released. But the GBA micro? How much smaller can they make ti?
