half-life 2 would have to be argubaly better, it has way more stunning graphics, alot more of a story line, a very good gameplay and yeah lol, i still think it is a let down because its multiplayer was very bad.. i was never a real fan of halo and i think halo 2 was a big let down.. :eek: halo 1 was alot better than it so it'll have to be HL2 for me

i got to say i have played both and half life 2 is just a better game i played it on original xbox and pc no competition its like comparing gears of war to mario party play it if u dont have it perfect game and a good story to and amazing charecters half life is not a stupid shootem up like halo.

Well I own both Halo's, never played Half Life 2....but I did love the original Half Life, that game was awesome.

I may just have to buy Half Life 1! Is it best on PC or PS2?? My PC is not equipped to run Half Life 2, and I hear the Xbox version is not that great which is a real disappointment. For me though, the ultimate FPS is still Goldeneye 007 on N64. :D

Halo should have been way up there, in terms of gameplay and storyline, it should easily surpass Half Life 2 by miles.

Im sorry but Halo 1 and Halo 2 are both average games, neither had anything new in and although fun to play is not really a game you could play through several times like you can with HL1 and HL2.

Multiplayer wise HL1 is still going strong now and I imagine that HL2 will also being going strong in several years. Halo was just boring multiplayer when compared to the amazing MP games out there.

Halo games had a good storyline, but they didnt grab you like the HL storylines did.

Well for a start my opinion can not be wrong, you can disagree with it, that's fine but that doesn't make it wrong!

Also, have you actually got any links to information that proves that HALO 2 has more MP games than HL2? I highly doubt that HALO 2 servers outnumber the servers for HL2 and its many many mods although if you can prove me wrong I would be willing to accept that.

As for saying that the mods don't compare then I seriously doubt that, I would say that there are probably more servers out there for HL1 and its mods than servers for Halo 1 + 2 put together! You only have to look at the number of people playing CS1.6 still to show just how popular it still is. Also with games like Portal and a much awaited Team Fortress game you can not say that Halo will always beat HL.

Just load up steam and you will find a huge list of mods and servers for even the oldest games.

Half Life 2, because Halo 2 hardly does anything innovative. Halo 2 was rushed and the campaign portion shows it. As for Half Life 2, well, that game is a masterpiece. Advanced game engine (at the time it came out) putting physics as part of the game, the facial expressions, good voice acting, and the game is almost glitch free compared to Halo 2.

I like both, thats a hard decission. I play Halo online more than I play Half Life but I love the story and weapons of Half Life 2. Half Life 2 was one of the few games I played the story mode over and over.
