hello there , Hope this will be concidered a game Question,

Was wondering if any1 could help me with this boggle .
Got a new Logitech g5 mouse after quakeing all these years with a ball mouse :-D
First things first ,
1. i tried connecting it to a USB 2 input and the computer didnt react to it (on both usb 2 inputs). when conencting it to a normal USB 1.1 input the computer recognized it . I Searched everywhere and can't seem to find any info about usb 2/1.1 compatabilty issues with the g5 . Am i loosing performance since its connected to a Usb 1.1 ? (using a p4t533c asus mother board which has different usb conenctors)

2. without installing the setpoint drivers the mouse seems to work fine.
BUT , i decided to install the Setpoint Drivers since i want a 1600 dpi setting. Once installed the 3.10 Setpoint for win xp Everything went bad .
First thing - there isnt an image of the mouse in the Setpoint Control Panel. Why ?
After configuring the settings once in Quake evrything was Slow and jerky - as if the DETECT game Settings ruined something.

3. i Tried to Flash the mouse to the 1.2 firmware - The Logitech Flash program Halts in the middle and never finishes - luckily it didnt ruin the mouse . Bah why is this happening ?

Current Mouse Firmware 1.1

Right now the mouse is working with factory default settings ( 400/800/2000 dpi)

But i really want the 1600 setting and to be able to config the mouse keys .

Is there something wrong with my comp/ Mouse or is it bcoz its not being recognized on the usb 2 input ?!?!!

This whole mouse deal has made me bamboozle !

Any help / info would be much appreciated !!

Cheers
