Sony released a bigger battery a while ago. It has 20% more battery life than original PSP battery pack (the current battery has 1800 mAh while the new one has 2200 mAh). I haven't bothered trying it out yet, but since it's first-party, there should be no problems.

I picked up a PSP recently, and whilst the battery life situation is probably isn't great, it's definitely acceptable, not as bad as some would have you believe. I am sure that even longer life batteries will be introduced over the coming months too.

I picked up a psp 3600mAh battery from ebay. Lasts around twice as long as the original battery. So, with both of them you're looking at 6 hours or so play.

Well i got a Datel 2x battery and 4gb HD that fits on the back of your psp and so far seems good. Also if you use ISO's instead of the umd it uses less battery.

Thats because its using the wifi connection, similarly with multiplayer wireless games, the battery will deplete a lot faster.

you can always stop playing, or plug it in. you are hardly going to be away from a plug for more than 4 hours

Unless you are on a coach, bus or plane for a long time.
Have to say, the only reason I use my DS is because its refreshing in its approach to gaming. I typically much prefer playing on home consoles.....which is why the PSP is pretty pointless to me because it is just a toned down Playstation 2.

Yeah, but thats less than the DS.....
....and most of those 5 hours on PSP you're waiting for games to load!!

Well, let me just say that the original battery is enough. I can play GTA vcs for at least 4 hours on the brightest screen and on max sound. And i think that its enough for at least one day. But if its not enough you always can carry an extra battery in your pocket, its not that heavy...
