Hey, someone must have something to say about the GameCube! I'll try to get things started here. What are your top 5 favourite Gamecube games? In my view, and from looking around on other forum sites, the Gamecube does seem to have a cult following but its popularity is waning. Would you agree?

I'll see if I can get something started.
My top 5 would have to be:
1. Resident Evil 4
2. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
3. Super Smash Bros. Melee
4. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
5. Metroid Prime

1. Super Smash Brothers Melee
2. Metroid Prime
3. Animal Crossing
4. Zelda - Windwaker
5. Zelda - Four Swords (Multiplayer)
I haven't played quite a few of the big games yet (Metroid Prime II, Paper Mario, REIV).
Metroid Prime and SSBM are easily in my top 10 games of all time. They are absolute classics in every sense of the word. They prove how powerful the GameCube is.
Unfortunately, there's only a handful of games I'm interested in that haven't been released yet (Twilight Princess, Battalion Wars, and Fire Emblem). I will probably pick up Mario Baseball and Soccer when the price is right. All of which are first or second party games. It's a shame the GCN didn't get more third part support than it did.
Are there any other games for the Cube you're looking forward to?

top five I would have to say
1. Resident evil 4, I was finally able to finish this game, I didn't like the way the older resident evils controlled.
2. Metroid Prime, I just could'nt get into MP Echoes though
3. Zelda the wind waker. it wasn't all that bad considering everyone complaining about the cell shaded graphics.
4.Super Smash Brothers melee
5. Metal Gear solid TTS, I never played it on ps2

My top five:
1. Resident Evil 4 (I loved Resident Evil before this game, but this changed the series for me. I can't stand how the old games played anymore.)
2. Metroid Prime (Although different than the old games, it did a good job and is fun.)
3. Super Smash Bros. Melee (It's SSBM, 'nuff said.)
4. Tales of Symphonia (One of the few RPGs on the GC and probably has one of the best battle systems ever.)
5. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Fun game!)

I wouldn't just say it's popularity is waning. Nintendo has been focusing on DS more and it's about to unveil the Rev. It's a natural progression for it start riding in the backseat.
my top 5:
1. Metroid Prime - I never thought it could be as good in 3d as it was in 2d, but it was.
2. Wind Waker - The emotion added by the cel shading was a greater contribution than any other feature.
3. Resident Evil 4 - I played it 3 times through without stopping when i got it, that has to say something. It isn't even really my favorite type of game either.
4. Tales of Symphonia - Really good game with tons of replay value.
5. Mario Kart: DD - Cmon, it's Mario Kart.
From what I've seen so far, I have a feeling Twilight Princess, and Battalion Wars can both easily enter my top 5 if they're as good as they look.
Can't wait for September 16.

1. Metroid Prime
2. Metroid Prime 2
What can I possibly say about these two games that hasn't been said? Easily my favorite series of this generation.
3. Eternal Darkness
Extremely overlooked. One of the coolest and moodiest games. Does a great job with simply freaking you the hell out.
4. SSBM
Basically the best party game ever, even though its technically a fighter. I've yet to meet anyone that could honestly say they didn't have fun with this.
5. Super Mario Sunshine
Mario on acid: it doesn't get much happier :D :D

i dont actually own a gamecube, but of the games i've played, i like mario kart: DD and mario tennis a lot...i LOVED the mario tennis on n64 (one of my favorite party games ever :)), and mario tennis for gamecube is pretty good as well...
if the revolution sells mario tennis (n64) and tweaks it to make it online...i WILL buy a revolution....

I doubt the old mario Tennis will be altered to go online, but you can pretty much gaurantee there will be a Rev version that will be fully online.

i heard that some older games would be altered to play online, but you have to buy it from the nintendo revolution interface thing...

Nothing has been announced about it yet, only thing i know of is they said they were looking into it.
I hope they will too, because waiting for some of those new revo versions of games to come out could take years. But there's really only hopes right now. hopefully we'll find out Sep 16.

I'd have to agree with the people who say metroid prime is one of the best gamecube games. I loved the metroid prime series, the lush enviroments, the free roaming feel... *sighs* good times, good times...
Also supersmash brothers may be wuite old to the gamecube but it hast to be one of the best multiplayer games around! (for consols:p )

1. The Legend of Zelda: WW
Not even in OoT's league but still one hell of a game. I loved the Cel-shaded graphics,
the story and of course the master sword!
2. Super Smash Bros: Melee
The game is very basic but thats what makes it brilliant! it has years of Nintendo
history cramed into one disc. The player gets the chance to experiance all you're favourite characters from the best nintendo games from every corner of the world. There is so much to do in both single and multi-player modes including collecting trophies, unlocking new areas to play on and of course new characters.
3.Baten Kaitos
It was release close to ToS, and was was largerly over looked by most GC owners. I my self had been keeping an eye on it since it was released in Jap. I highly recommend this to any to any RPG fans with a GC, but it isn't worth buying a GC just for this game. The story was impressive and the original and unique battle system was a fresh look on RPg's and it was a really impressive looking game to top it off.
4.Luigi's Mansion
Short but sweet. I loved Controlling Luigi rather then Mario. The story wasen't compelling or completely new but fun which is what we have come to expect from a game like this. It was a good launch title for Nintendo in the place of Mario.
5.Pokemon Colosseum
This spot was hard to fill as there where many games i knew i would be missing out on. Anyway...Pokemon's debut on the GC wasen't all it was cracked up to be mainly due to the fact you couldn't catch ild pokemon and some thought it was just an excuse for nintendo to help hadheld gamers fill there pokedex's, these are but many arguements why this game failed to impress the hardcore GC fan. I read these arguements but as a pokemon fan i decided to buy it and find out for my self what was really wrong with the game. What i found was a fresh story line, nice 3D pokemon ( even if some could of been better but...) and a al round great game worthy of both non- pokemon and the hardcore fans alike.
I feel like i need to mention the games i missed out:-
F-zero
Mario Kart
Mario Sunshine
Wave Racer
Animal Crossing
Pikmin
And finally the games which i didn't enjoy but others did:-
Resi 4
Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime 1+2
Swong318

Tales of Symphonia- a great rpg game
Resident Evil 4- a great horror game
Animal Crossing- a fun and somewhat kiddish game
Viewitful Joe- a fun game that takes place in a comic movie
Metroid Prime- good first person shooter for the GC.

Smash brothers: Melee is indeed the best use of the four ports on the GC. The level designs, rich history of Nintendo flows throught out the game. The amount of hours you can spend on this game ins ingle player alone without getting bored is amazing!

this may not b the best title for the GC, but it sure does a hell of a job as a series, and that is MARIO PARTY :D . Very awesome game, for anyone that hasnt played it. Even better playing with ur buddies!! HIGHLY recommend it if u have a lot of friends that come over, or if its jus u most of the time, i still recommend it;)

Yea... nintendo's strong suit definitely has been "party" games... I was over at my friends house last year and we had an xbox and a playstation at our disposal, yet we chose to take out the Nintendo 64 for Mario Party!
It was tons of fun too!

lol of course not. Come on... 10 years??
Gamecube (in my opinion) is more for the younger crowd, remember its a nintendo so theres mario of course :D . Games are rated 'E-T', even tho there are some Mature games for it, i dont kno why. The graphics are good, they fall behind the ps2 and xbox, but they're still good. And the gameplay.... well it depends on the type of person to say that. Personally, i dont really like the gamecube cuz of the controller, the buttons are all over the place, and i dont have much interests in the games. Maybe the mario party games tho.
