Is the psp worth it?

Why get a psp most of its games are on or going to be on the ps2.
These are the games that are on ps2 n psp;
WWE Smackdown vs Raw,
Grand theft auto liberty city stories,
Tony hawks underground 2 remix,
Pro evolution soccer 5,
Fifa 2006,
Fifa street 2,
Need for speed underground 2,
Burnout ledgends - 1 2 n 3 are on the ps2.
Need for speed most wanted,
King kong,
Fight night round 3,
Colin mcrae rally 2006,
World snooker challenge 2005,
Toca race driver 2,
Tiger woods 2006,
And there's more.

That's a big list is the psp really worth it yea it's a handheald playstation but the battery sucks, the screen gets scrached verry easily and most of the games are on the ps2 is the psp really worth it?.
I've got a psp but I only buy the games that are only on the psp 'cause I get the ones that are on the ps2 for the ps2 I don't think the psp is worth it what do you think?

It can play movies but really...why would you want to watch a movie for like.. as much as the battery life can hold, in a car or something. Kinda pointless. I agree with both of you.
The psp seriously isn't worth the mony the games suck, the battery is sh#t, the screen gets scratched sooo easily, the screen's always dirty cause there's nothin covering it look at the ds and the gba sp they filp open so there screens are safe and The psp's games aren't the greatest actually there sh#t.So no the psp isn't worth it.

Well mine has been worth it :)

I have mine running on 1.5 firmware which means you can play homebrew and iso's from your memory card. I have a double battery which lasts me nearly any journey i wish to take. I also play a lot of emulated games from the good old sega days so i get good use out of it.

My main reason for having one is for when i go on holiday and theres a lot of travelling it passes the time nicely if your getting into a game.

My analogue stick fell of yesterday I was on the train and I was playing GTA and the cops were everywere (I had 5 stars) and I didn't want to die 'cause I had really cool weapons. I tryed to get to the stars that bring your raiting down but everytime I got one my raiting went back up it was annoying me. I pushed the anologue stick really hard ('cause I was annoyed) and it fell of and it went down a stupid little hole so my psp has no analogue stick.

anyway, i have a psp (thanks gamesforum!) and i like it a lot..all you need is a five dollar hori screen protector and a playgear pocket hard case and your set for "protection"

anyway, i've had a blast with the psp games; i dont really like to sit in one place to play games

The only complaint i have about the psp is that not many decent games have really come out? I have found myself emulatioin old sega games etc and playing them!

I have had both the DS and the PSP... I don't have the PSP anymore. I loved the graphics... and Metal Gear Acid. But I just wanted more game variety. When I got my psp, it was fairly new, there weren't a lot of good games for it (good if you like rpgs I mean). But it seems like now there are a lot more games, and so... I want another PSP ^_^

If you like racing games you'll love the psp. I think there's waaaaay too many racing games on the psp.

Id have to say that in a way the PSP is worth it but very little ways......The DS is alright i havent found a reason to like it though but if u guys can tell me or explain to me why it is i would love that. but this is just my opion not that it matters much.

Well the ds has diffrent kinds of games platform games ( super mario ), racing games ( mario kart ), action games ( metroid prime ) puzzle games ( Metos Tetris and it has games that you'll never see on the psp ( Nintendogs & Warioware & Trama center ) and the psp has racing games some puzzle games and some action games but gun games will never work on the psp look at Coded arms it was a mess.

You don't buy xbox 360 wires they come with the 360 if you get the premium pack.
I think it's a good idea if you get a 360 and your on xbox live then you can also play the old xbox games.

Call of duty 2 - It's the best first person army game there is.
The Outfit - It's definetly the wildest game on the 360 it's like black but you have 3 other men with you.
Halo - It's old but it's brilliant.
Halo 2 - It's the biggest online game in the world well actually it's second World of Warcraft is first.
Halo multi -player map pack - this is what makes Halo 2 so great on live this is a great multi - player game.

Saw the DS last night and i have decided i do't really like it. I think its aimed at a younger audience and the quality just isn't there. I think anyone over the age of 14 will enjoy the psp more than ds.

How old are you guys by the way? It could be that the DS i saw just had lots of kiddy games?

Nintendo is often criticised for not being innovative enough with games these days, relying on tired genres and franchises, i.e. 2d Mario platformers, but I don't really agree with this. In my experience DS games veer towards the stupidly addictive (even if aimed at a younger audience), whereas PSP games I've become bored of more quickly. PSP movies are definitely great for long train journeys though.

I just want to see some better games on the psp! Saying that i have been finding it hard to get games i like nowadays.

Is it just me growing out of it because even though the games were not as good graphics wise, i much prefered the games i had on my amiga, mega drive and PS1. Since then i have had PS2, xbox and a psp and i just don't seem to want to play them as much.

I have been debating about getting a PSP for a long while. I really wish Sony would have gone a different route with the UMD format though and allowed people to burn their own information. I think this would have significantly altered the PSP impact as a video viewing device. There is a ton of video content available now that is free and would not be violating Hollywood copyrights. Unfortunately Sony is too concerned about their software divisions, so they couldn't fathom designing their product in a way to make it useful to the consumer.

To me that is one of the biggest mis-steps. I imagine I will be holding of for now, but I saw so much potential.

Of course that is it- Why would they let you burn your own stuff when they can charge you for it. But- is there equipment that actually lets you burn UMDs? I've never heard of it.

I got a PSP for christmas and I love it. The graphic is awsome, the sound is great, the action of games are cool. I like the fact that i can take anywhere i want to and play. It's like taking a ps2 on the road, or without having to deal with turning on the tv and the system.

Downside, there some glitches on gta vcs, and battery drain fast. I need a secondary battery to play, but too expensive.

i bought a psp played on each of may 20 games for around 1 evening maybe 2, the only game with any real playabuility and sticking time is everybody's golf that is what the psp is about for me, every other game ive played on it after 10mins id wished id got it or a similar one for my ps2 or 360.

i think the PSP is great actually. i dont own one, but my friend does.. its compact, easy to use, graphics are alright, and it isnt too bad on the price.

PSP is good, i get 6-7 hours battery out of it which does me more than fine, movies, you can have a camera on top of it now with the new firmware, i think its a good invention. i also do like the ds, graphics are better on the psp in my opinion but ds is cool, they both are just as good

The PSP is ok but i wouldn't say its way better than DS, but sure you can play music, movies, and the graphics are better, DS has its touch screen and its addictive games to boot, pokemon just came out which will probably make die-hard fans of pokemon jump out of there seats and buy a DS for that one game, i would if i had money...
