The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask - Nintendo 64 (Released 2000)

RPG with puzzle elements

Majoras mask is the first Zelda game that is a sequel to a previous title, in this case LoZ Ocarina of Time. The story contiunes with Link set several years after OoT, the number of years is not stated. He is searching for Navi, is fairy companion, that left after he replaced the master sword. He is now older than he was in OoT, although not as old as he is after the master sword is removed, we see this with the useage of a larger shield, larger sword and the fact he is riding Epona.

The game begins with Link in a forest, where he is attacked by a kid in a mask and his two fairies, after Link chases him down because he stole Epona as well as the Ocarina he recieved from Princess Zelda, he is transformed in a Deku Scrub. He then finds the mask salesman from OoT who is travelling collecting rare masks, a rare mask of his, called the Majoras Mask, was stole by Skullkid, and he is now posessed by it. In exchange for his mask returned, the Mask saleman agrees to change Link back to human, all he needs is his Ocarina back, but he is leaving in 3 days, so the game has a time limit.

After the three days, Link gets the Ocarina after versing the Skull Kid, a thought of the song of time comes to Link and after playing it, the three days begin again. After being turned back into himself, Link sets out to get Skull Kid adn stop the moon falling. He has the help of Tatl, a fariy left behind by Skull Kid as well as the new power of changing into different species with the power of masks.

I love this game, its great, not as many people believe it is as good as its predecessor but i believe its different style of masks and time travel gives it a fun feel.

This game needs a mandatory use of the expansion pack. Time travel in this game is used by using the orcarina, and after the time travel is used the world goes back to its orginal state and any items such as bombs or arrows or rupees disappears. The style is the same in OoT, with a as the action button, b to attack adn c buttons for items and Tatls help. Attack buttons and moves change depending on what mask you wear.

Exellent game for its time, a little dissappointing at the time it takes to finish, with only 4 temples where OoT had over 10. But with great music and graphics and extra things to do like collect masks and do side-quests, makes up for the time it takes to finish, in my eyes anyway.

Score : 8.5/10

Well obviously you stated that it does link it, since it is the a FOLLOW-UP to the OoT :D, but then this game should be worthy of recognition.
