Hy everybody! I've got a problem that I just can't seem to fix. I've got a problem when playing Prince of Persia 3 or UT2003, but not while playing some other games like Oblivion! The problem I'm having is that the games I mentioned drag to slow, beyond the point of playing (well, not always but most the time, cca 95%). I do realize this looks like a configuration problem, but my configuration is considerably over the minimum, and recommended (at least for PoP, I do not know for UT). Here's mine and required configuration:
Computer type: HP Notebook nx8220
CPU: 1.73 GHz M --------------------------- 1.5 GHz Pentium 4
RAM: 1 Gb ----------------------------------- 512 Mb
Video: ATI Radeon X600 Mobility --------- Any DX9.0c ATI Radeon from X-family
(other component's aren't vital for the problem - sound card, hard drive space, DVD-ROM drive and OS)
And concerning the drivers, for all component's I downloaded my production company's drivers from the official web page (minus the video card drivers, I got that one from ATI web page, the latest Catalyst, but under the conviction that they are, in fact the reason to my problems, I uninstalled them and returned to HP drivers). I was using AVG for my anti virus program, but like Catalyst, I uninstalled it because I heard form a dozen different sources that it slows the system a lot, so now I'm on BitDefender 2008: Total Security.
So, after this long introduction, what do you think my problem could be?
