Just try googling for possible upgades for your laptop. However, I think it's just easier and safer to just get a gaming laptop, like Toshiba X200, Toshiba P100, and Asus G-series. (I think Toshiba is a better option though, I use the P100 and I played Crysis on it :D) And gaming laptops are not as expensive as you might think (if you know the right places ;))

I got past all the security stuff, it doesn't ask that if you disable the right stuff...just make sure you have a good anti-virus (I use NOD32). The thing that REALLY bothers me about Vista is driver installations. Every time I plug in someones flashdrive, it installs about 4 different drivers!(you don't even wanna know about an iPod or PSP!) And it takes ages. It even installed drivers for my USB mouse once:confused:
I read an article in the PCFormat once that handled upgrading your laptop, but it's risky, expensive and hard to find the parts.

for the portability....it for school but i like to be able to play games on it also....i play nfs underground 2 on it and it works fine... i got crysis to kinda....sorta....work on it but it is really crappy....and i have vista and the only problem i really have with it is the fact that it uses up soo much ram...i gotta get anthoer gig. i got 1.5 gigs. i think if i upped it more i might be able to run my favorite game........morrowind(i ****in loved it on xbox) and possibly oblivion(its a long shot but the min requirement i meet except for the proicessor which is only .4ghz short)

For portability you already have a laptop so a new desktop you will use it for games
