I played it Low/medium 1024x768 on my Laptop (GeForce 7900GT, 2GB Ram, 200GB HDD filled to the brim, 2.16 Core 2 Duo (the HDD was a bottleneck)) He can play it medium/high and at a slightly higher resolution.
Just avoid DX10

8600GT is performing a lot worst in Dx10 than in Dx9, for Dx10 you need a high end card

Can any system handle it right now, this is why PC gaming is dying, these modern games are too hard to run.

Is enough to play at low or medium depends on other parts you got. I think the best bet for you would be HD3850. But now is too late as you already said

That's news to me! Usually, if you have a relitively new PC you can play the games on at least low settings. PC Gaming isnt dying.

Neither could handle "Crysis" - hence why its not appeared on those consoles.
The 360 is certainly more capable as a FPS gaming machine, due to the fact its GPU is more powerful than the PS3s, and it has more accessible RAM.

I know you can play it on the Low setting, but nothing can play it how it is meant to be played on high level, 60 FPS.

First of all pc gaming will never die and if you got Xbox or PS3 you will have to take your mind from Crysis
