    Borderlands - PS3, Xbox 360, PC

    -Visuals- 9.2/10
This is actually somewhat of a tough call. Up close the cartoonish aspect sometimes fails as things will be obviously 2D, however, when viewed from any reasonable distance the effect actually looks more like a 3D rendering than many other games. The major complaint for some will be the cartoonish aspect. Most things are bordered by dark black lines and the filled in with (typically) various (for lack of a better word) "autumn" colors, which interestingly enough, in my opinion, fits the feel of the game perfectly. The planet Pandora is a dry, rusted, run down arid wasteland, it doesn't nee vibrant colors, although some of the enemies will provide a perfect splash of color.

    -Sound- 9.9/10
The soundtrack itself is awesome, especially when the heavier music kicks in for the boss battles. The voice overs are also extremely well done. The tones and accents fit perfectly (especially Scooter and Tannis, my favorite two by far)in a worn down world full of survivors, misfits, aliens and many, many bad guys. I will leave it up to you whether you love the Claptraps or hate them though, lol.

    -Gameplay- 9.6/10
Kill (or be killed) loot your enemies, loot the various containers strewn across Pandora all the while attempting to figure out the secret of the Vault and complete numerous, and I mean numerous side quests all the time keeping the best shield, the best weapons and the best addons for your chosen character. You can play as one of four classes (Hunter, Berserker, Soldier or Siren) each of which has their own strengths and weaknesses and each of these classes is then customizable by finding/buying upgrades which are class specific. The idea is simple enough, constantly find better stuff and use it to progress, what makes it so much fun is all the weapons, it is simply unreal how many there are and how different each is, I had a field day simply killing things using different weapons! According to Gearbox there are actually 17,750,000 different variations of weapons! The game is simply a ton of fun to play, relatively easy controls, great interface to change weapons and use heal packs etc. My only two complaint are 1: It will take awhile to earn enough upgrades to carry many weapons, heal packs, etc (at the beginning of the game you will struggle some, and once you drop a weapon it's gone, unless you immediately pick it back up), although by the end you'll have plenty of backpack room and 2: in some battles it's simply too easy to win, I seldom sweated any battles unless they were boss ones and a few of them I destroyed easily as well.

    -Story- 9.0/10
Some say there really isn't much of one, but I slightly disagree. While the gameplay certainly takes over the story and the journey is much, much more important than the end, there is a thread of continuity, but pay attention because the main quest isn't mentioned much and you can lose track of exactly what is going on if you don't pay attention and/or get too immersed in all of the side quests.

    -Overall- 9.6/10
I know some will disagree but honestly it's one of the best games I have ever played. The side quests are wonderful fun, the trophy hunting is hilarious and the enemies actions as a great example of what AI is capable of. The re-play value is also very nicely done with all the quests being reset although a tad harder and you keep everything you finished the game with (your enemies will now be at your level though, they won't be pushovers at all). And of course there is the whole multi-player aspect which I'm sure you gamers will love.

Is there a future to come out of this useless time? Will I exist in a place like this?
If I wanted to tell you what kind of person I am, the words I'd use would be "good for nothing."

So far out of what I've played, Borderlands or BDL for short is the best or the most fun co-op game I am currently playing. There are 3 DLC's in this game namely Zombie Island of doctor ned, Mad moxxi's underdome riot and the biggest DLC gearbox has ever made and to me better than the main story is Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and less I forget you need general knoxx DLC to be able to get past level 50 and try getting up to 61 which is an achievement via trophy FYI.

A 4th unnamed DLC was announced by gearbox with no set timetable of its release or name. Also due to good ratings of BDL, they say a 2nd BDL is a possibility in the near future.

You can always powerlevel with side quests and hunt for good weapons to help you on your way to the main mission. Its just more fun to play with other people than alone.

To bad they didn't make a MMO of it .

Its game genre is basically action RPG. I prefer it this way as the weapon rarity set up reminds you the PC game sensation "Diablo 2"

I'll be honest and say that this review barely mentioned anything worth mentioning. If it weren't for the screenshots I'd be unsure of wheter this is a game, a movie or a radioshow.

Another thing I found really strange was the rating.

    -Visuals- 9.2/10
This is actually somewhat of a tough call.
Apparently not, since you gave it a 9.2 which is a REALLY high score out of 10. You also pointed out a lot of negative things about the visuals, while still giving them the high score you did.

    -Story- 9.0/10
Some say there really isn't much of one, but I slightly disagree.
Again..? You "slightly" disagree that there isn't a story, but yet you gave the story a 9 out of 10? Wtf?

Keep it up though. Great use of language imo.

Its actually not much of a story cuz of the fact the only aim of the 4 present playable characters are to head to the vault. They have their own story of their own(each one of them) though it isn't mentioned in the game. Each of the characters biography can be found in borderlands wikia. Probably what was interesting why I gave BDL a whooping 9pts was because each characters have their own reasons for searching the vault hence the rumors of a 4th DLC and a 2nd BDL game.

The visuals score is high because lots of area in borderlands have great effects. If you haven't played the game you could check on youtube.

What actually made me give the story a 9 despite my "meh" on the story was because they don't mention each of their side stories, only mentioned is their just after the vault hence BDL makers mistake and the reason for their announcement on the 4th DLC to complement the characters if not the 2nd BDL is where they reveal the side story of each character and their background. Game wise the story is about 4 people in search for the vault for personal reasons of their own hence their background.

Borderlands is a excellent title, which is a must have for fans of both FPS and RPG games.I've bought this game last weekend and I already like it a lot! Especially the graphics are awesome, It's just like you're playing a game from a strip.
