the graphics are good, but i hope the game is as fun as the previous installments. hopefully, there will be some humour in the game like vice city and san andreas, rather than just all-out gritty city crime.

i think any game that makes you laugh is good value.

taken from http://www.gamerevolver.com/article-...iew-recap.html, this article recaps the main points of the first review of GTAIV for both systems which was taken down last week at the request of R*. I actually wanted to laugh when I read this; it seems that the PS3 version has split screen yet the 360 version does not. Read on for more...

""I know, you want details, but all I can confirm is split-screen on PS3 only. I was alone, so I didn’t actually get to have any matches, but I could tell that the split-screen worked really well. There was a significant decrease in the amount of traffic and pedestrians, but it didn’t ruin anything. This is understandable. Rendering two instances of Liberty City is a chore for any machine. I can’t conclude one way or the other why the split-screen mode was not available on 360, but I assume by the drop in on-screen objects on the PS3 that the 360 just couldn’t handle it. If you own a 360, don’t worry. You have Xbox Live…so you’re set, just can't play with your buddy right beside you."

The articles also goes on to tell of the various hardware differences between the two, which in many cases, (besides the installation) seems to favor the PS3. I just found this really intriguing because, for those who don't have online access for their consoles, (a majority of both PS3 and 360 users) multiplayer is then only available to those with the PS3 version. I do believe that it was posted up by a PS3 fanboy.....most level headed people have dismissed it and will wait for official reviews. No surprises that desperate p-sleva posts it up

Can't say i'm too fussed. Sure GTA III was great at the time, but the sequels were just repetitive nonsense in the end and totally over hyped - got them for the PS2. The games missions got incredibly tedious and repetitive, so you just ended up going on the rampage, which also got tiresome after about half an hour.

I certainly won't be buying a 360 or PS3 based on this game. It's essentially just an update of the PS2 versions. Big deal.

It's not just an update, have you not read anything anyone's said in previews? they're completley remaking the game. It's the first direct sequal since GTAIII. Vice City & San Andreas were updates. This is not.

Sure its a new game engine, but its essentially the same old GTA, but with high definition graphics on. It's still essentially an update, but because its on new hardware, it has to be considered a "sequel"!

It won't have the same impact as GTA 3.....that was revolutionary. GTA 4 is merely an evolution of the series.

i'm sure the game play has at least been tweaked and added even more variety of things to do in what is becoming more realistic - the GTA world.

The more variety, the more things to do, the more realistic....doesn't mean it will turn out to be a better game.

Games have become too fiddly these days. No wonder games back in the 80s and 90s were better due to using less buttons, not relying on graphics etc.
