LCD TV's and Light guns

As many of you know, Light guns will not work on LCD TV's due to the way they work compared to the CRT tvs (If you don't know, do a Google search.)

Now there are a couple of LCD guns that have been made which work for the PS2, Xbox and PS3....BUT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A MODERN GAMING THREAD TO YOU!? I want my NES and SNES gun games to work on it!

lol well extensive searches have yielded on undeniable fact. No one has even tried to combine the technologies and I want to know if anyone has. Far as i see it, The gun exists, the tech for converting Old to new exists (http://www.retrousb.com/index.php), can the technology be spliced? Wires relinked from an old NES zapper or SNES controller and make one of the LCD guns work on the old girls? I am amazed that no one has tried.

Now I am no engineer (unless you count Lego's) so I can't try it myself.....even if I could become famous for it [sigh]. Does anyone have any ideas how an LCD gun may be made to work on an LCD tv?

Cathode Ray Tubes are win. Where is your technology God now. Hmm, perhaps some kind of wii like sensor thingy might be used? Me nono.

By the look of it you need a gun that can work with the LCD and then some sort of converter to get the signal into what the older console is expecting. POssible but not worth the effort

oh man does anybody remember the nintendo super scope i wasted so many batteries on that thing lol

I love my Super Scope even more then my zapper. i found that using 6 energizer titanium batteries are good for at least 40-50 hours.

Further research has me conclude that guns like the super scope will never work on an LCD because they excite the phosurus in the CRT TV and LCD doesn't have any to excite. However I think a Zapper can work if modified right.

The Ultimate problem is because LCD tv's don't flash like CRT tv's when you shoot the gun and as a result the photo diode in the gun can't see it. However the screen still flashes from black with a white box for an instant. What if we were to pull that diode out of the gun and replace it with a modern one with a higher sensitivity?

It isnt the sensitivity, its the timing of the screen. The LCD refreshes all at once unlike the CRT which does one point at a time.
