Any mention of a ps2 price drop?

Has there been any mention of a ps2 pricedrop during the holiday season. I've only got a couple of ps2 games and only want to pay about $100. My launch ps2 is giving me disk read errors

I'd be surprised if they didn't drop the price at/around the holiday season. What with the Xbox 360 releasing at the same time, and with it being very expensive [comparatively], a lowered price point could help draw some attention away from Microsoft. And of course attention being given to the PS2's huge library, versus the 360's limited launch library.

you will probably see a price drop around the time the 360 will come out...probably to 129.99

yea, my ps2 has DREs too not good...it couldnt read lego star wars

I really wanted a slim ps2, I might have a trade with my brother for his older one. He wants NBA live and Far Cry for his. Hopefully I'll pick them up on sale this weekend.

seems like a good trade for me...go for it the slim ones look nice! they also have the built in network adapter

His older model already has a network adaptor. Doubt I'll use it since i'm on xbox live. As long as the total is under $80 for his games I'll take it
