PSP go, wasting our bundles

The PSP go will suck! Why? No real problem with the system except 1 thing.

NO UMD, WTF SONY! Seriously, so it can't use UMDs, better not sell your original(2000 or 3000 too) or ya screwed, out of luck. They traded the UMDs for flash memory and digital distribution. That means I pay for it online and it goes into my flash drive thing. I have a small complaint, I am a person who like HOLDING what I paid for. I just want to fiscally put it in, I just don't trust that flash crap(that is why I won't use 360's On Demand).

You can PAY for your old games to be on the flashdrive through the PSS(PlayStationStore). A crap load of nice sounding titles will be on PSS and UMD(Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, MotorStorm Arctic Edge, and SOCOM Fire Team Bravo 3. The first Resident Evil game for the PSP is scheduled to appear next year.), but I think eventually, PSP non gos are not going to get new games. That is my BIGGEST gripe with that. So upgrade(even if ya did JUST get a PSP 3000 ya better sell and not get any games.)or you might buy the PSP go when they make PSP move!

You really shouldn't sell anything yet, hold out. Half is true(flashdrive stuff), half is rumor(Soon no new UMDs (I still belive it though) ). This is just a half analysis, half first impressions. Ok i'm done, what do you think about it.

(In my opinion) you've pointed out the best part of the PSP Go. I've always thought digitally distributed content is the way forward (case in point; Steam) and it is good to see Sony going some way towards that.

Yes, obviously it's not exactly a good prospect for PSP 1000 to 3000 owners, but you can't hold onto certain technology forever. Especially when that technology is UMD discs, which have been very unpopular from what I've heard over the years.

I am all for digital distribution, but the psp has got a massive back catalog of UMDs and the fact you cant play them put me off getting it. I was waiting for the announcement about a new PSP but after seeing the smaller screen and no UMD slot I got a 3000, which means i can get the games cheaper (EG. Medievil: Resurrection - CEX : £8.00 PS Store : £14.99) I also saved around £100 on the system itself. PSP go is not worth the money.

if you buy a game and it malfunctions and you lose it I"m pretty sure you can get it back for free just like Games on demand for the 360
