i don't think so. i don't think there are ever betas for xbox 360 games, but there are demos for some games on xbox live. but the first gears of war never had a demo and i doubt the sequel would have a demo.

i think the main point of a demo is to encourage more people to buy the full game, but gears of war is already so well known, the sequel doesn't really need a demo to get more ppl to buy the full game.

Some console games have open betas, like the upcoming CoD: World at War. They're not really common though, and usually these games are offered on both consoles and PC.

Nothing public as far as Gears is concerned though.
